I have been sifting through my collection of cabinet photos and early snapshots this weekend, and happened to come across a couple that need to be shared and appreciated by others, instead of kept in a box or album. Although I love the old studio portraits, I'm really starting to search for early snapshots of people in everyday life, posing near their home, their car, or with a beloved pet. You really get a feel for how people lived, what they wore, and what they considered worthy of photographing!
There's only one appropriate caption for this picture: "I've got a possum by the tail!"
