I just returned from a little trip to Naples, Florida. I spent time with my mom, did a little shopping, and took some pictures here and there. I helped my mom downsize her large collection of majolica, and have put some of the pieces in my Etsy shop. In other news, Up For Grabs, the consignment shop where my mom sells her antiques, is expanding because it's been so very successful. The new store will be two doors down from the original shop. It should be open soon, and my mom and Jezebel, her little Maltese, will be working there occasionally. Stop by to say "hello" if you are in Naples!
I discovered this little shop right off Fifth Avenue in Naples:
I always try to visit Anthropologie at Waterside Shops to see their clever displays and fun products. Aren't these tea towels cute?
These t-shirts could be replicated with bits of old crochet, don't you agree?
Some of you whippersnappers might think the vase below is an Anthropologie invention, but it's based on an old style of pottery called "sanded majolica":
I like their modern color combinations:
Another Anthropologie display:
This pillow looks easy to duplicate with felt, don't you think?
I saw many sea fans at Chesterdales' Home and Garden, and brought a couple home (very carefully) to use in some vignettes:
I'm going to figure out how to duplicate these angel wings with foam core, paint, and paper mache:
Aren't old typewriters hot right now?
One of our shopping stops was the Bead Boutique on US 41. The lineup of Swarovski crystals was amazing! And they had so much more. Visit my other blog, Mitzi Made It to read about it.
There's a Swarovski store at Waterside Shops in Naples. It reminds me of a beautiful box of candy:
The owner of this home was once a farmer, and raised pigs. I just love the weathervane! If you are interested in adding a new weathervane to your home, I found an online catalog here.
Cocounuts in my mom's neighborhood. I wouldn't want one of these to fall on my head!
I like the white iron railing against the shrimp painted building:
With my mom, (left), Jezebel, who's yawning, and family friend Alexandra:
That's it for now. I'm working on some craft projects for both blogs, so I have to get going!
