Print the page in grayscale to make sure your child can color it. Printing in grayscale ensures that the image will be in black and white.
Example: if you want to create the appearance of shadow, try using a deeper blue (or red, or yellow, etc.) to create darker areas and a lighter blue for highlighted areas. This method can work with pencils, pens and markers.
Check out TV network sites to find coloring images of characters. If your child wants to color images of some of their favorite animated characters, visit the sites of the networks that broadcast the shows.
Use varying amounts of pressure to create the illusion of shadows. This technique, referred to as shading, adds depth and dimension to your picture. Simply vary the amount of pressure that you are apply with your coloring utensil depending on how light or dark you’d like a given area to be.
Felt markers, crayons, colored pens, and colored pencils are all ideal coloring tools for kids to use.
If you make a mistake while coloring using an app, it is much easier to remove than coloring with pencils or markers on paper.
