Choose the best place to begin coloring. Some drawing utensils (such as gel pens, colored pens, or markers) are more likely to smear than others.
Alternatively, an easy technique to try is crayon rubbings. Simply remove the paper from the crayon, lay it on its side, and rub it gently over the paper. This creates a gentle shade over the paper.
Open the image and select “print” to print out the coloring page. When you click on “print,” the computer will bring up a menu page allowing you to select a printer and choose how many copies of the image you’d like to print.
If you are using pencils, be sure to sharpen them before you begin your coloring project, as this will allow you to have more precision in your coloring.
These kinds of pictures can spark children’s imaginations by letting them soak up knowledge of how the natural world is structured.
While coloring is traditionally done with crayon, use any tools that you feel comfortable with. You can try using fine-tip permanent markers, gel pencils, crayons, and different types of pencils such as watercolor.
