You spent so much time on the piece of art — don’t throw it away! And it can be a nightmare to store kids art. Let’s make something fun with your coloring sheets instead!
Decide on a color scheme. You might, for example, choose to only use cool colors (blues, purples, and dark greens) or only use warm colors (reds, oranges, yellows, and light greens) for your project, or you may choose to mix many different hues together.
Use varying amounts of pressure to create the illusion of shadows. This technique, referred to as shading, adds depth and dimension to your picture. Simply vary the amount of pressure that you are apply with your coloring utensil depending on how light or dark you’d like a given area to be.
Use your time coloring to enjoy being in the moment and focusing on the task at hand. Try not to worry about making mistakes or if the colors don’t look right. Remember that the purpose of coloring is to enjoy being creative. You can always start on a new picture or page if you need to.
Kids will love coloring in images of their favorite heroes including Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Batman, the Green Lantern, Black Widow, and the Hulk.
