Search for pictures of flowers and trees if your child likes nature. Search for something like “outdoors children’s coloring pictures.”
While coloring is traditionally done with crayon, use any tools that you feel comfortable with. You can try using fine-tip permanent markers, gel pencils, crayons, and different types of pencils such as watercolor.
Blend colors and shades to create dimension. Another way to add depth is to blend different shades or colors together to achieve different values.
Save the image if you’d like to print it again in the future. In this case, right click on the image and click on “Save as.” This will bring up a window that allows you to select a location on your computer to save the picture.
Print the image as a full page to give your child plenty of space to color. If you’re given the option to choose what size the image will be printed as, select “full page.” Click “print” again to print out the picture.
Regardless of the colors you choose, having a rough idea of how you’d like your completed piece to look can help you create a picture you’re satisfied with.
